Strategy Foundation Workshops (SFW)


This interactive workshop series supports senior leaders and managers to assess their organisation’s current mental health landscape and build the foundations of an effective, sustainable strategy.


Across a structured set of sessions, participants identify key risks, explore root causes using proven frameworks, and agree clear priorities for action. The programme focuses on practical implementation, including governance, manager capability and cultural expectations, resulting in a coherent mental health and wellbeing approach.


The programme includes a Senior Leadership Strategy Session to set direction and governance, a Department Managers Implementation Workshop to translate strategy into everyday practice, and an optional Steering Group Action Lab to consolidate outputs into a clear implementation plan with defined actions, ownership and measurable outcomes.


Workshop 1:
Senior Leadership Strategy Session

A focused session for senior leaders to step back and assess the organisation’s current mental health landscape.


Participants explore key risks, strengths and gaps, identify root causes using proven frameworks, and agree strategic priorities.


The workshop establishes leadership ownership, governance and a clear direction for building a sustainable mental health and wellbeing strategy.


Workshop 2:
Department Managers Implementation Workshop

Designed for managers and operational leaders, this practical session translates strategy into day-to-day management practice.


Participants explore team-level pressures, identify root causes, and develop realistic actions to improve workload, communication, and psychological safety, while creating clear 30, 60 and 90 day plans.


Workshop 3:
Wellbeing Steering Group Action Lab (Optional)

This session brings together outputs from earlier workshops into a single, coherent implementation plan.


Attendees agree ownership, timelines, measures and reporting structures, ensuring the organisation has a clear, joined-up approach to delivering and sustaining its mental health strategy


By the end of this workshop series, your organisation will have a clear, structured foundation for building a mentally healthy workplace.
